The Surgical Critical Care Initiative (SC2i) is a Uniformed Services University center that leverages legacy information from service members and critically ill civilian and military patients to develop biomarker-driven clinical decision support tools (CDSTs) for the critically ill with the goal of improving clinical outcomes and reducing costs across the injury/disease cycle.
Mission
SC2i advances the care of critically ill combat casualties and civilian patients by leveraging precision medicine that integrates biomarkers, clinical data, and artificial intelligence.
VISION
SC2i will become a driving force for change in surgical care management using precision medicine.
